DCG knows Best (28th Oct – 7th November)

November 23, 2009 at 1:01 am (DCG)

For an introduction I would simply like to quote Daphne, in what I believe to be the most honest qoute of all time in her blog:

The only difference between the Labour Party and the Nationalist Party on this score (LGBT rights) is that the first talks but won’t do, while the second doesn’t even bother talking because so far it has no intention of doing.

1. The changes in the Labour Party are explained by the fact that they are ashamed to be Labour (http://daphnecaruanagalizia.com/2009/10/30/oh-fabulous-now-they%E2%80%99re-ashamed-to-be-labour/).

2. During the superfly era (that’s the 70s), maybe only 10% of the population had a clue of what European life was supposed to be. You bet your ass that Daphne was one of them! In fact, she recounts a story where just like Jesus, she freed the people at the Karin Grech maternity hospital canteen in 1986, only using a box of Coco-pops. What an amazing amazing woman I tell you! (http://daphnecaruanagalizia.com/2009/10/30/oh-fabulous-now-they%E2%80%99re-ashamed-to-be-labour/).

3. Joseph Muscat is cool – NOT! On top of that, he’s not even superfly! The reason being that he excluded homosexuals from PL’s mainstream politics, thinking that he’s doing something extraordinary. And for your information, the British example is different, because Daphne says so!! (http://daphnecaruanagalizia.com/2009/11/03/ok-joseph-now-get-on-the-dancefloor-and-throw-some-groovy-shapes-man/)

4. You think you have it bad becuase you can be discriminated against because you are gay? Well, at least you can hide you r sexuality. Daphne has it worse, she’s a woman and she can’t hide it (or could she?) Point is Daphne-phobia is worse than homophobia. (http://daphnecaruanagalizia.com/2009/11/03/ok-joseph-now-get-on-the-dancefloor-and-throw-some-groovy-shapes-man/)

5. Quoting the master: “If you are a man, you have all the rights you can possibly want, whether you are homosexual or heterosexual. The law doesn’t give a damn whether you’re gay or straight. It used to give a damn only about whether you are a man or a woman, and it doesn’t even do that any more. Up to a few years ago, you gay blokes had far more rights and privileges at law than I did as a married woman” (http://daphnecaruanagalizia.com/2009/11/03/ok-joseph-now-get-on-the-dancefloor-and-throw-some-groovy-shapes-man/)

6. English lesson: Mills & Boon is synonymous with romance/romantic. (http://daphnecaruanagalizia.com/2009/11/03/ok-joseph-now-get-on-the-dancefloor-and-throw-some-groovy-shapes-man/)

7. Albeit being extremely tough , Daphne is disturbed by the crucifix. (http://daphnecaruanagalizia.com/2009/11/05/missing-the-point-about-the-crucifix-ruling/)

8. Daphne describing herself when she was a child:

with an IQ well above average who was able to grasp abstract concepts at an unusually early age, and who wasn’t raised in a household that revered the crucifix and so was able to see it clearly for what it is, rather than for what it symbolises.

9. Her blog gets thousands of hits everyday….okay? (http://daphnecaruanagalizia.com/2009/11/07/what-next-a-raid-on-agendas-fiction-shelves/)

Is this a woman or what?

In her defense, on the 7th of November she did publish a post in solidarity with Realta found @ http://daphnecaruanagalizia.com/2009/11/07/what-next-a-raid-on-agendas-fiction-shelves/
